Pure Delight: The Sweetest Thing

If you’re new on the Cameron Diaz bandwagon you may not have yet had the pleasure to check out one of her earlier films The Sweetest Thing released in 2002. If that’s the case, you might want to get on it right away since this film is a hilarious and heart-warming story that touches on the concept of BFFs and the ever-popular theme of “looking for love.” Some critics comment in a pejorative way about the film’s “Porky-style naughtiness” which can at times be considered adolescent, but if you’re a woman who has ever quested for a man while being surrounded by your posse of sisterhood, you’ll enjoy this film. Cast members Christina Applegate and Selma Blair round out the posse, and with that trio you can only imagine the fun that ensues as they take the comedic low road in their journey which includes jokes and innuendo about some very funny (and a little bit naughty) dating topics. Yes, it may be considered sophomoric by some, but Diaz will make you smile and that can’t be a bad thing, can it?
